Library Memberships
Library memberships at
the C. G. Jung Institute of
San Francisco are available
to therapists, students,
researchers and the general
public in the SF Bay Area
who are interested in
Jungian ideas or are
involved in personal or
professional Jungian
studies.
Membership is for one
year at a time, either from
July 1 to June 30, or from
January 1 to December 31 of
the upcoming year.
Membership privileges will
start immediately upon
payment and last until the
next following subscription
year.
Additionally, the Jung
Institute offers a
Friends of the Institute
membership. Friends of
the Institute receive
benefits that include
use of the library as well
as discounts on Institute
Public Programs and
invitations to special
events.
The Library has a
comprehensive collection of
Jungian materials, as well
as materials in mythology,
symbolism, alchemy, religion
and psychology in general.
The collection includes some
unique videotapes and DVDs,
an extensive audio
collection of the
Institute's public programs,
Jungian and other topical
journals – both online and
print - and many
hard-to-find papers. Our
catalog provides access to
records of the whole
collection, including
journal articles and reviews
from the primary Jungian
journals.
The Library is open for
use to subscribers on
weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm,
during the Institute's
business hours. New
subscribers are asked to
come in for an initial
orientation to the Library.
We do not have a book drop
for return of books after
hours, but items can be
renewed by phone or email,
and returned by insured
mail. Subscribers can check
out circulating materials
from the library, and may
renew them. Most items may
be checked out for a month
at a time. Videotapes and
DVDs may be checked out for
a week.
